The assignment was to create an abstract image of a cardboard robot we made for the previous lesson, carve it into Lino, and press it onto a paper.
So here's the process I went through:
First I made a couple of photos in class. The one below was my favorite, mainly because of the interesting shape that the shadow of my robot created on the table. I adjusted the brightness and contrast of the photo, and made it a Black & White.
Secondly I made a sketch of the abstract image, based on the photo above.
This below is the final result of my Lino press. It didn't go the way it was supposed to go, but none the less I'm pretty happy with it. In comparison to the previous image, this one seems to have a lot more life to it.
What to call it though, the centipede? xD
And in continuation of the previous assignment we had to use the lino drawing
to make a cover for a superhero magazine in Photoshop.
