This is a character I created long ago, but the sketches here are about a year old.
To give a bit of insight in the process I added a couple of very sketchy pages,
where I place all my notes and thoughts as well.
Loriae was born in the waters of Veersan, en gives class to the Versata Kimmari;
High School of the Seven Seas. Her subject is Elemental Magic: Water.
The story itself is about a young human boy who drowned a couple of years
ago after a friend pushed him into a big river. The moment he touched the
water however, he current took him straight to the nymphs in the sea.
Loriae becomes a mother-figure to him, an arrogant guardian angel who
helps him through his fate her way. She helps him with all the things he needs
to do to rescue the underwaterworld from environmental issues (p.e. oil leaks).
In further issues (where our hero is defending life in the air or on earth) he often thinks back to the wise words she told him in the moonlight. Loriae's advice isn't always the best, and can only be trusted when the moon shines. During the day she doesn't think particularly far ahead and her reponses tend to lack a certain depth.
